Basketball Training Shouldn’t Be Random

Many players train without consistent schedules, clear goals, ongoing evaluation, or context for how skills translate to games.

PBX Basketball Training exists to bring structure to player development — with planned sessions, purposeful reps, and ongoing mentorship that helps players improve when it matters most: in games.

Training Options

Small Group Training

Competitive, efficient, and game-representative training designed to maximize reps, decision-making, and skill transfer. This is the primary training model.

1-on-1 Training

Individualized sessions for targeted skill development, confidence building, and personalized feedback when needed.

Development With a Plan

Training with PBX goes beyond workouts. Players receive ongoing structure and accountability through:

• Monthly evaluations
• Goal setting and feedback
• Mentorship and availability outside the gym
• Game-context insight that connects training to performance

This is development with continuity — not isolated sessions.

Coaching Background & Philosophy

Hi, I’m Will Boettcher City Director of PSB Portland and founder of PBX Basketball Training. I’ve coached boys and girls for over 10 years at the club, middle school, and high school levels. My experience includes Fly, founding Blitz AAU, and serving as City Director and Coach for Pro Skills Basketball in Portland.

I’ve coached at OES, Lincoln, Lake Oswego, and Sherwood, and have worked with athletes from grade 2 through grade 12.

PSB Portland grew from 22 players in 2024 to nearly 300 in 2025, expanding from 3 to 21 teams. Many athletes I’ve coached since middle school are now graduating high school and being recruited to play college basketball.

Wins matter, but development matters more — and I’ve never had a losing season.

Who I Train

• Boys & girls, grades 2–12
• Beginners to advanced players
• Athletes seeking structure, accountability, and real progress
• Players preparing for club, middle school, high school, or post–high school basketball

My goal is simple: help every player reach their full potential and continue playing the game at the highest level possible for them.
